<p><a href="https://www.takealot.com/">takealot.com</a>, South Africa's leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented <strong>Copywriter & Content Producer </strong>to join our team in <strong>Cape Town</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Purpose of the role: The role requires an exceptional content producer and storyteller — someone who can conceptualise, write and edit sharp, scroll-stopping content for Takealot Marketplace. </strong>They will be responsible for communicating the voice, tone, and creative consistency of Takealot while producing content that drives measurable engagement, talkability, and conversion across platforms where Takealot’s audience lives.</p>
<p><strong>This position reports to the Content Production Manager</strong></p>
<p><strong>Your responsibilities will include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Marketing Content:</strong> Plan, write, and edit high-volume content, managing concept through execution while ensuring alignment with Takealot’s Marketing, Marketplace, and Content Strategy.</li>
<li><strong>Copywriting Excellence:</strong> Write and adapt compelling copies for a range of channels, ensuring clarity, emotional resonance, and on-brand storytelling.</li>
<li><strong>Creative Concept Development: </strong>Collaborate with Marketing and Takealot Marketplace teams to ideate and execute strong creative concepts that bring on-brand campaigns to life.</li>
<li><strong>Research & Insights: </strong>Stay on the pulse of South African content marketing trends, audience behaviour, and competitor activity to strengthen creative outputs and keep content relevant and talk worthy.</li>
<li><strong>Performance & Optimisation: </strong>Measure, analyse, and report on content performance to refine tone, messaging, and creative direction — ensuring future content is data-led and impactful.</li>
<li><strong>Collaboration & Brief Management: </strong>Understand and respond to creative and marketing briefs to effectively plan and brief collaborators.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualification & Experience: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Copywriting, English Language or related degree.</strong></li>
<li>A<strong> minimum of 5 years working in eCommerce/E- learning/content production and/or related digital communications</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Attributes Required</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and a well-structured thought process.</li>
<li> Ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines.</li>
<li>Very strong interpersonal skills and experience in marshalling cross-departmental resources towards daily goals and objectives.</li>
