About The Role
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Purpose: OBSA is seeking student employees for its fellowship positions. Available positions are undergraduate fellows (1). We are looking for passionate, collaborative, well-organized self-starters with excellent customer service and an interest in creatively engaging and connecting student populations at The Claremont Colleges. Prior office and/or affinity group experience preferred but not required. We are looking for a student able to balance their commitments and courseload who can devote time and energy to effectively meet the responsibilities for this position. Workstudy is preferred but not required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following are the fundamental duties and responsibilities of this position which the incumbent must be able to perform to fulfill the purpose and requirements of this position.
- Currently enrolled and attending one of The Claremont Colleges.
Event Organization and Outreach
- Team design a series of outreach and social engagement projects on behalf of students.
- Staff and manage community events.
- Partner/liaison with student-led organizations and departments to share information, promote events and collaborate on programming.
- Host biweekly (2x monthly) drop in office hours in the OBSA bungalow
- Contribute to OBSA’s resource and reference guides and publications
Staffing
- Assist with staffing OBSA’s major events (Black History Month, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration, Black Graduation, Black Alumni brunch, campus welcome fairs, orientation fairs and welcome group tours).
- Duty/responsibility
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Written and verbal communication

- Facilitation/presenting
Work Schedule: The regular hours for this part-time position are maximum 12 hours scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for 10 months annually. May be required to work weekend, and/or evening hours. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or business unit.
COMPENSATION
Pay: $16.90 per hour.
