SYSTEM JOB TITLE: Adjunct Faculty
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Chair of the Department of Chemistry
POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Chemistry at Moravian University invites applications for part-time adjunct teaching positions in the Chemistry program. Our need for part-time instructors varies semester to semester. When a position becomes available, we will invite qualified applicants from this pool to interview and/or submit additional information. We occasionally have the following teaching needs:
- General Chemistry I lab (fall course)
- General Chemistry II lab (spring course)
- Organic Chemistry I lab (fall course)
- Organic Chemistry II lab (spring course)
- Fundamentals of Chemistry (GOB) lab (spring course)
Teaching will be fully in-person on our main (North) campus in Bethlehem, PA.
The Department of Chemistry values active, student-centered approaches to learning as well as inquiry-based labs that teach authentic skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach laboratories as assigned in a manner designed to assist the student in achieving the specific objectives of the course
- Ensure safety protocols are followed in the laboratory
- Provide detailed and timely feedback to students on assignments
- Comply with all relevant program and university policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified candidates must have a MS degree or advanced PhD candidate in chemistry or chemical sciences
- Preferred: PhD (or ABD) in chemistry or chemical sciences with successful teaching experience beyond the TA level
