Assistant Professor - Modern US History

The Department of History at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-earning Assistant Professor position in Modern U.S. History. We welcome applications from those with specializations in transnational migration, diasporic communities or ethnic studies. The position is on a 9-month contract with a start date of August 7, 2027. Salary is negotiable.
The successful applicant will teach two courses a semester, including a U.S. general education survey (U.S. History since 1877), upper-level courses in their specialization, and seminars at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
PhD in History from an accredited institution is required and must be conferred by the start date. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
Preferred candidates will have university-level teaching experience and scholarly publications.
