ROV Technician

Oceaneering Canada has secured long-term, year-round offshore ROV operations supporting major projects offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. These opportunities span both vessel-based Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) operations and MODU-based well intervention campaigns, providing stable employment, challenging technical work, and diverse operational experience.

SSR ROV Technicians are responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing ROV systems and associated support equipment to ensure equipment readiness and the safe, efficient execution of offshore operations while developing technical competency and supporting project objectives.

• Maintain, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair ROV systems and associated support equipment.
• Assist ROV launch, recovery, deployment, and subsea intervention operations.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with company procedures.

• Support the diagnosis and resolution of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and software faults.
• Ensure ROV equipment is operational and ready to meet project requirements.

Execute planned maintenance tasks and maintain accurate maintenance records.

• Support equipment mobilization, demobilization, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, permit-to-work processes, and safety initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, including good housekeeping practices.
• Assist Senior Technicians and Supervisors with operational and maintenance activities.
• Liaise with offshore and shore-based personnel regarding equipment status and technical issues as required.
• Prepare maintenance documentation, technical reports, and shift handovers.

Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and maintenance practices.
Required

• High School Diploma.
• Experience as an ROV Technician (domestic or international) and/or a combination of experience or education.
• Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate

Preferred

• Engineering Technologist or Technician diploma.
• Valid CAPP-compliant offshore training including Basic Survival Training.
• WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, and Regulatory Awareness.
