Equalities and Policy Officer

Are you passionate about equality, inclusion and making a real difference?
Croydon Council is looking for an Equalities & HR Policy Officer to help shape the policies, practices and culture that support a diverse, inclusive and high-performing workforce. Working within our Workforce Strategy team, you'll play a key role in developing people policies, supporting equality initiatives, analysing workforce data and contributing to major organisational change programmes.

What You'll Do

• Develop and review people policies and guidance.
• Support and quality assure Equality Impact Assessments.
• Work with HR&OD colleagues to translate people policy into practical workplace practices
• Analyse workforce equality data and produce reports for senior leaders.
• Provide advice on employment policy, equality legislation and best practice.
• Work with staff networks, trade unions and stakeholders to promote inclusion.
• Support workforce transformation, organisational development and culture change initiatives.

About You
You'll bring:

• Experience of HR policy development and/or equality, diversity and inclusion work.
• Knowledge of HR casework operational practice
• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to translate complex information into practical solutions.
• A collaborative, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to inclusion.
