Key Responsibility Areas:

• Plans and controls the repairs and maintenance of vehicles, small plant, machinery and agriculture / horticulture equipment.
• Oversees the functions of a spares and materials store.
• Administers, supervises and trains allocated staff.
• Performs line function administration and financial controls.
• Communicates, liaises and interacts with communities, internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensures the health and safety of staff and the general public.
• Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge in the field of motor mechanics

Essential Requirements:

• Trade Tested Artisan in Petrol and or Diesel or Earth Moving Equipment.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
• Valid Professional drivers Permit (PrDP).
• 4 years relevant post apprenticeship experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• 5 years relevant post apprenticeship experience.

Special Conditions:
May be required to work overtime/irregular hours. May be required to act in the capacity of surrounding posts. All posts of Workshop Superintendent/Foreman within the department are interchangeable.
Physical Requirements:
Required to perform all normal duties and functions of the post.
