Civil Specialist

• Wood is recruiting a Civil Specialist to join our Civil Team within Life Sciences group based in Milan, Italy.
• The Civil Specialist will work on Pharmaceutical and Bio Tech projects, for international clients in a multinational and multicultural environment.

The Role

As Civil Specialist you will work in a project team to design industrial pharmaceutical buildings by using 2D and, in particular, 3D model tools (REVIT). The activities are particularly focused on:

• definition of layout arrangements for architectural and process purposes,
• pharmaceutical/civil finishing design and specification
• design of all other civil items part of an industrial building.

You will have regular interaction with Civil Engineers and other BIM discipline specialists part of the team to keep them informed of the progress of the project, ensuring the works are on track, and to overcome any challenges.

The key objectives for this role are

• Concept, Basic & Detail Design Engineering activities for the assigned projects
• Set-up and develop the 3D model design, ensuring performance and monitoring the compliance with the project budget and schedule
• Development of equipment layouts starting from basic information defined by Process team and in coordination with all other disciplines
• Preparation and issue of documents/drawings related to layout arrangements, architectural layouts, door schedules, finishing schedules, sections, views, structural items, underground installations, etc.)
• Control and forecast of activities and deliverables against schedule
• Interface with external resources, other disciplines, departments, clients
• Work as part of a team
• Contribute and participate in work in an enthusiastic manner, working to the requirements of quality and environmental management systems maintained to ISO standards
• Explore innovative ways to use BIM in engineering

• Strong experience with BIM tools, and proven proficiency in Autodesk Revit
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD software
• Competencies in sustainability design
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams
• Fluent in spoken and written Italian and English is a mandatory requirement
• Aptitude for coordination of third parties and remote execution centers
• Eligibile to work in Italy
• Availability to work on assignment at Clients’ or Wood’s sites/offices, when required
• Previous experience, minimum 5 years, within engineering companies, preferably in pharmaceutical sector are considered a plus

Compensation and compliance

Contract & Classification

• Contract type: Permanent
• Collective Agreement (CCNL): Industria Metalmeccanica (CNEL C011)
• Job Classification level: Impiegato, consistent with role requirements and applicable CCNL

Compensation

• Gross Annual Salary: the initial gross annual salary will be € 45,000.00, paid in 14 instalments
• The compensation package will include applicable CCNL elements and company benefits
• Variable pay and additional benefits will be detailed during the selection process
