Founding Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage AI fintech startup building an AI-native platform that automates private market operations for asset servicers and asset managers. You will work directly alongside the founding team and customers to shape the product, the roadmap, and the company itself. This is a maximum-ownership position with a clear path into engineering leadership.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain core platform components including AI agents, data capture pipelines, reconciliation workflows, and ERP integrations.

• Design and ship production-grade backend APIs and services that power fund accounting automation at scale.

• Work directly with design partners and customers to gather requirements, communicate trade-offs, and inform the product roadmap.
• -
• Integrate and operate large language models and agentic systems in production environments.
• -
• Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from architecture decisions through to deployment and iteration.

• Help attract and evaluate exceptional engineering talent as the team grows.

What We're Looking For

• -
• 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, with evidence of having built and shipped real products or meaningful side projects.

• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript with strong computer science and engineering fundamentals.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic or autonomous systems development, including production deployments.

• Experience building or operating AI-native operations infrastructure such as systems for accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury.

• Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury workflows.
• -
• Full-product-lifecycle capability, not narrowly backend-only or frontend-only.

• High ownership mindset with comfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving founding team environment.

• Eligibility to work in Germany; visa sponsorship is available.

• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
• -
• Background as a co-founder, founding engineer, or entrepreneurial builder is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: 70,000 to 110,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
