About The Role

Join Toast, a leading restaurant technology platform, as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for the Technical Operations team, owning the end-to-end architecture and direction of our services, internal tools, and data systems. You will design and build backend services and integrations, partner with the Product Owner to identify opportunities for impact, and mentor less experienced engineers. Enjoy benefits such as unlimited vacation, a sabbatical opportunity after five years, and a commitment to employee wellness.

  • Serve as the team's technical lead, owning the end-to-end architecture and direction of our services, internal tools, and data systems.
  • Design and build the backend services and integrations that ingest engineering, tooling, and cost signals from multiple source systems.
  • Partner with our Product Owner to identify and define the biggest opportunities for impact, and collaborate with your teammates on end-to-end solutions.
  • If you are passionate about turning complex business and engineering processes into something teams can actually see, so they can spot bottlenecks and opportunities before they become major problems, use resources wisely, and ultimately deliver a better customer experience, this team is for you
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (for example Python, Kotlin, or TypeScript)
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production full-stack systems, including data-intensive systems that automate manual business/operational processes
  • Strong backend, API integration, SQL and data modeling skills
  • Proficiency in a modern web front-end stack sufficient to prototype visualizations, and review front-end work
  • Proven ability to drive significant projects to completion from design to rollout, informed by solid technical and business understanding, working with non-engineering stakeholders
  • Ownership of the full lifecycle of what you ship from design reviews to automated testing, monitoring, and production support
  • Demonstrated, hands-on use of agentic engineering as a core part of how you work
