About The Role

DescriptionMaintenance Technician - Part Time

Put Your Skills to Work. Make a Difference Where People Live.

Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA) is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team!

At PCHA, maintenance is about more than fixing things. Our Maintenance Technicians help create safe, welcoming, well-maintained homes for the residents and families we serve. If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, taking pride in a job well done, and seeing the direct impact of your work, we’d love to hear from you.

Our mission is to provide quality, affordable housing and improve the lives of residents, and every member of our team plays a part in making that happen.

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, no two days will look exactly the same. You’ll work independently and alongside our maintenance team to keep PCHA properties and apartment homes in great working condition.

Your work may include:

Painting unit interiors, exteriors, and common areas
Completing assigned work orders and obtaining necessary materials and supplies
Installing equipment according to instructions, codes, and safe work practices
Assisting with property and grounds upkeep as needed
Performing general clean-up and janitorial duties
Moving equipment, materials, and other large or bulky items
Helping maintain tools and equipment

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, safety-minded, comfortable working independently, and committed to providing great service to our residents.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Valid Florida Class E Driver’s License
Ability to meet PCHA fleet and liability insurance requirements
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, electrical metering devices, lawn equipment, and other maintenance equipment
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance work
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Availability to participate in rotating after-hours on-call assignments

The Kind of Person Who Thrives at PCHA

Our team is guided by four core values:

Accountability
You take ownership of your work, follow through, and understand that residents and coworkers are counting on you.

Integrity
You do the right thing—even when no one is watching—and treat residents, coworkers, vendors, and the public with professionalism and respect.

Innovation
You look for practical solutions, think through problems, and are open to better ways of getting the job done.

Culture of Learning
You’re willing to learn new skills, share what you know, ask questions, and continue developing your maintenance expertise.

Why Your Work Matters

A leaking faucet, malfunctioning appliance, damaged door, or air-conditioning problem may seem like another work order—but to a resident, it affects their home.

That’s why this position matters.

You’ll have the opportunity to use your maintenance skills to directly support the quality of our communities and the people who call them home.

If you’re someone who enjoys troubleshooting, fixing problems, staying active, and taking pride in your work, come put your skills to work for a mission that matters.

Join the PCHA Team

Bring your experience. Bring your problem-solving skills. Bring your commitment to great service.
