Senior Buyer / FF&E Lead

The Senior Buyer / FF&E Lead, based in Athens with periodic travel to the Elounda Hills site in Crete, owns the end-to-end sourcing and purchasing of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) for the Elounda Hills development, and acts as the department's principal market-research and purchasing resource for general project consumables and small equipment. The role combines full life-cycle FF&E purchasing — where hospitality quality, lead times and design intent must be protected — with day-to-day buying of low-value materials, IT hardware, consumables and similar items for the Central and Site Offices. The holder is expected to work with limited supervision, to run competitive sourcing on their own initiative, and to bring market intelligence into the department.

The role requires strong experience in supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations, market research and procurement coordination, with particular focus on quality, specification compliance, cost control and timely delivery.

• Lead the sourcing, tendering, negotiation and purchasing of FF&E packages for guestrooms, public areas, F&B outlets, spa, marina and back-of-house areas.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs, evaluate commercial offers, negotiate pricing and terms, and prepare purchase recommendations.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of domestic and international FF&E suppliers, identifying alternative sources and market opportunities.
• Manage supplier performance, production and delivery schedules to ensure alignment with project installation and opening milestones.
• Ensure purchased items comply with approved design specifications, samples, finishes, dimensions and quality standards.
• Coordinate closely with Design, Operations, Construction, Project Controls and other project stakeholders on specifications, value engineering, budgets and delivery requirements.
• Maintain FF&E purchasing schedules, budget trackers, order records and relevant market/cost data.
• Conduct ongoing market research and price benchmarking to support purchasing decisions and cost planning.
• Manage general purchasing requirements, including IT equipment, small materials, tools and office/site consumables.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures and maintain complete and auditable procurement records.
• Support and, where required, coordinate junior members of the purchasing team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Architecture, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–7 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably including FF&E within hospitality, luxury residential or large-scale construction projects.
• Proven experience in FF&E sourcing, supplier negotiations and procurement, with a strong focus on cost optimisation, specification compliance and timely delivery.
• Experience managing competitive tenders, supplier evaluations and procurement schedules.
• Good working knowledge of Incoterms, logistics/import processes and supplier commercial terms.
• Strong negotiation, commercial and market-analysis skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple purchasing packages and priorities independently.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and ERP/purchasing systems.
• Fluent Greek and English, written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel to the project site in Crete as required.
