Position Highlights
Full-spectrum Family Medicine practice
Provide outpatient primary care to patients of all ages
Manage prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care
Perform primary cesarean sections
Provide initial and ongoing care for newborns
Shared inpatient and emergency obstetrical call
Collaborative practice environment with Family Medicine and OB/GYN providers

Clinical Practice
This position offers the opportunity to practice comprehensive Family Medicine while providing the full continuum of obstetrical care.
Outpatient Primary Care
Routine wellness examinations and preventive care
Acute illness evaluation and treatment
Chronic disease management
Women’s health and reproductive care
Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric care
Coordination of specialty referrals and follow-up services
Obstetric Care
Provide comprehensive maternity services throughout pregnancy and delivery, including:
Prenatal and antepartum care
Labor management
Vaginal deliveries
Primary surgical cesarean sections
Postpartum care
Evaluation and management of obstetrical concerns
Collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and other maternity care professionals
Surgical Responsibilities
Perform primary cesarean sections
Assist with maternity-related surgical procedures
Evaluate patients for operative delivery
Maintain surgical obstetrics competency and required case documentation
Participate in quality and patient-safety initiatives related to maternal care
Newborn & Pediatric Care
Provide initial newborn examinations and hospital care
Manage routine newborn health concerns
Conduct pediatric wellness visits and developmental screenings
Educate parents regarding feeding, safety, immunizations, and developmental milestones
Coordinate specialty care when medically necessary
Qualifications & Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
Completion of a post-residency Surgical Obstetrics fellowship or documented competency and case experience performing cesarean sections
Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine
Eligible to obtain an unrestricted Maryland medical license
Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges, including surgical obstetrics privileges
Current or obtainable DEA registration
Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Strong Clinical Support
Collaborative team of Family Medicine physicians, OB/GYNs, advanced practice providers, nurses, and maternity care professionals
Coordinated inpatient and outpatient services
