Senior Construction Engineer

About The Role
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Part-Time Senior Construction Engineer for our Cincinnati, Ohio office. Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges
Your Impact
- Monitor project progress against schedule and budget
- Identify and manage potential risks
- Review contractor submittals, change orders and recommend approvals
- Oversee quality control and safety compliance
- Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues
- Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation
- Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors
- Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings
- Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience
- Experience leading projects and inspectors
- Experience with utility construction, building construction and/or basic mechanical equipment
- A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents
- Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working as an Resident Engineer on underground utility replacement and building construction
- Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
