Accountant

The main purpose of the role is to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of transactions in accordance with local GAAP and company procedures. The role works closely with and reports to the Head of Finance.

Main Responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily accounting transactions, including revenues, expenses, supplier invoices and customer invoices.
• Support bank, supplier and customer reconciliations and follow up on any differences.
• Assist with VAT, MyDATA and other tax-related submissions under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
• Maintain records related to fixed assets and support the preparation of relevant schedules.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare and organize supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Maintain complete and well-organized electronic and physical accounting files.
• Support payments and other daily finance operations when required.
• Cooperate effectively with the accounting team and other internal departments.
• Develop professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2 - 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within an in-house accounting department or accounting firm.
• Basic knowledge of Greek accounting and tax legislation.
• Familiarity with MyDATA, VAT processes and accounting entries.
• Good command of Greek and English.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with accounting or ERP software will be considered an advantage.
