Key Result Areas

• Develop in-house applications to support business requirements following software development methodologies, e.g., Waterfall and Agile
• ➢
• Review business and system requirements and the applications portfolio to obtain a thorough understanding of business needs and deliver the most appropriate solutions
• ➢
• Translate business and user requirements into functional specifications and design application solutions that fully address business requirements
• ➢
• Create visual mock-ups, prototypes, and diagrammatic conceptual design techniques to develop user-friendly interfaces
• ➢
• Plan and manage development activities to deliver required work on time
• ➢
• Produce clear, thorough, and user-friendly technical documentation that supports quality assurance QA testing activities
• ➢
• Participate in functional and usability testing of own and others’ work to improve the system and user experience; troubleshoot application production issues and resolve issues
• ➢
• Collaborate with other IT personnel to implement completed production-ready systems; participate in change control processes as required
• ➢
• Manage configuration controls (versioning of source code, system documentation, and configuration)
• ➢
• Deliver end-user training for developed applications, and maintain training materials & user manuals
• ➢
• Deploy and monitor a variety of applications in a production environment
• ➢
• Work on integrating clinical and laboratory devices into the designated information systems within QPHI or with other partner (third party) systems
• ➢
• Provide 2nd & 3rd level application support to end users to ensure uninterrupted system operations
• ➢
• Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience

➢

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

➢

2-5 years of full-time experience developing Web and client-based applications in an enterprise environment, preferably in healthcare

➢

Experience in Azure Cloud setup for a development environment

➢

Exposure to the full SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) with proficiency in object-oriented methodologies

➢

Proficient in n-tier development (multi-tier architecture)

➢

Exposure to LIMS, CIS, or PACS is an added advantage

➢

Proficiency in development technologies such as .Net/JEE, PL/SQL, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, .Net Core, and Blazor, and the ability to quickly master new technologies

➢

Experience in data migration from legacy to new applications

➢

Professional experience in ISO ISMS standard 27001 and associated processes

➢

Experience in software release management

➢

Experience using GIThub and associated administration activities whenever required. Particularly focused on source control, versioning, and end-to-end build & test environments

➢

General Web development skills, including knowledge of usability principles, cross-browser compatibility, and best practices for ensuring Web security and accessibility

➢

Experience in Web User Interface Design (UI), including visual mock-ups and prototypes; exposure to Swing is an advantage

Web Services design experience (REST, SOAP, etc.)

➢

Experience employing Web 2.0 techniques and developing interfaces with libraries and frameworks such as JQuery or DOJO

➢

Experience with heterogeneous database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or T-SQL coding, PostGres, and MongoDB

➢

DBMS experience, including creating and maintaining tables, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures, and functions, packages, and types

➢

Experience documenting system designs and functional requirements

➢

Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas

➢

Excellent spoken English skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
