Who are we looking for?

We currently have an opportunity for a Drafting / Design student to join us as an Electrical/Instrumentation Drafter Intern! In this role, you will provide CAD and BIM support for engineering design projects involving electrical power systems, instrumentation and controls (I&C), and industrial process facilities. These projects may include municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, utility infrastructure, and other industrial process systems.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in

• Effectively communicating with project team members via Microsoft Teams, online or in-person meetings, and email.
• Assisting with the development and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation drawings and models using CAD and BIM software.
• Supporting project designers and engineers during design reviews, project kickoff meetings, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Assisting with the preparation of project deliverables, including electrical plans, instrumentation diagrams, schedules, and construction drawing packages.
• Performing drawing updates, revisions, and documentation development under the guidance of experienced designers and engineers.
• Learning and applying company drafting standards, design practices, and quality procedures for electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Performing project support tasks such as document management, plotting, field verification/site visits, and updating as-built and record drawings with mentorship from your supervisor.

What you will bring to the team

• Actively pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD is preferred; experience with Revit is an asset.
• Interest in electrical power systems, instrumentation and controls (I&C), industrial facilities, and engineering design.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.

Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 based on experience and location.
