Restaurant Technician

The Restaurant Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of all kitchen and dining area equipment across our restaurant locations. This role ensures a safe and efficient environment for both staff and customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of restaurant equipment, including but not limited to fryers, griddles, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, coffee machines, and POS systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues affecting kitchen and dining equipment.
• Execute timely repairs to minimize downtime and disruption to restaurant operations.
• Install new restaurant equipment and systems as required, ensuring proper setup and calibration.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and hours worked.
• Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs.
• Provide technical support and training to restaurant staff on basic equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Respond to emergency repair calls outside of regular business hours when necessary.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing preferred.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in a maintenance or repair role, specifically within a restaurant, hospitality, or commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aptitude.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
