About The Role
Davis Machine is an AS9100-certified precision machining company serving the aerospace industry from a 75,000 sq ft campus in Euless, Texas. The business is built on two complementary lines of work: high-volume, low-mix production of stainless steel, Inconel, and other hard-material components, and low-volume, high-mix machining of complex aluminum and titanium structural parts. Davis is affiliated with sister companies in surface finishing and engineering, giving customers a single group for machined, finished, and engineered components.
Position summary
Program aluminum and titanium aerospace structural components from model to first article on Hurco 3-axis and 5-axis VMCs, Mazak horizontal cells with pallet systems and tombstones, DMG 5-axis mill-turn. The programmer owns the process plan, fixturing, toolpaths, post, prove-out at the machine, and the revision when the customer changes the drawing. Reports to the Engineering Manager.
Accountabilities
- Process plans and fixturing with collaboration with the machinists and the engineering group
- Toolpath and tool selection based on the existing library or new tool selection based on geometry and demand
- Prove-out at the machine and first-piece support through AS9102 first article with Quality
- Revisions on running parts, with process documentation kept current
- Participation in group review of new work to support estimating and bids

Qualifications
- Seven + years programming multi-axis CNC mills, simultaneous 5-axis, on titanium and aluminum aerospace structure
- Depth in Mastercam Multiaxis or CATIA V5 machining; strong in either qualifies, both preferred
- Horizontal cell programming with tombstone fixturing and pallet-system flow
- Fluent GD&T; experience carrying parts through AS9102 first article in an AS9100 environment
- Present at the machine for prove-out rather than releasing and waiting
- US person as defined under ITAR/EAR
Preferred
- Wintool or similar tool-library systems
- Esprit, Swiss, or turning experience
- Machinist or setup background prior to programming
- Schedule and requirements
- First shift Monday through Friday. Extended hours during prove-out and customer deadlines. US person as defined under ITAR/EAR. Background check and drug screen required.
