Payroll & Accounting Coordinator

Job Type: Contract-to-HireStarting Pay: $30.50/hour — higher pay available depending on experienceSchedule: 1st ShiftLunch: 1 hour

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Accounting Coordinator to handle weekly payroll and assist with accounting and employee-related administrative tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage confidential payroll information accurately and on schedule.

What You'll Handle

  • Process weekly payroll for both office and field employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate processing of salaries, benefits, 401(k) contributions, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Enter and verify payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, and employee pay-rate updates.
  • Review payroll calculations, balances, and internal controls for accuracy.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax requirements on a weekly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
  • Prepare and process W-2s and other required payroll documentation.
  • Process weekly employee expense reimbursements.
  • Assist the Human Resources team with employee-related payroll matters.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering requested records and documentation.
  • Provide general assistance to the Accounting Department.
  • Download and upload weekly data files related to health and dental insurance.
  • Process and maintain company credit card transactions.
  • Help maintain payroll systems and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of related accounting and/or payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliation, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive payroll and employee information professionally.
