About The Role

As the Engineering Manager for Cloud Platform Engineering, you will lead, coach, and scale a team of high-performing engineers responsible for the foundation of Traveloka’s multi-cloud infrastructure. You will own the strategic technical roadmap, operational excellence, and organizational alignment that shape how the wider engineering organization builds, deploys, and operates. Combining technical depth with people-first leadership, you will partner closely with engineering leaders across Traveloka to drive large-scale infrastructure programs, champion platform self-service, and build an engineering culture focused on reliability, security, and cost efficiency. What You'll Do Lead, mentor, and grow a team of cloud platform engineers. Foster an inclusive, high-ownership engineering culture, drive performance management, and support individual career growth paths. Define and execute the strategic technical roadmap to migrate legacy workloads to Kubernetes-based infrastructure across public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, AliCloud). Own domain-level technical decisions surrounding reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across multi-tenant, multi-region Kubernetes clusters and IaC (Terraform) practices. Partner with product and application engineering teams to build platform-grade automation and self-service tools, incorporating pragmatic AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery without compromising safety or verification rigor. Establish robust incident response frameworks, act as an escalation point/incident commander for critical outages, and ensure teams drive root-cause systemic fixes through to completion. Translate complex technical trade-offs, risks, and infrastructure investments to both technical and executive stakeholders to drive informed business decisions. What You'll Bring Core Capabilities Minimally 10+ years in Cloud/DevOps Engineering deeply focused on production Kubernetes environments, with engineering management or technical leadership experience. Broad architecture-level mastery of cloud-native ecosystems, including Kubernetes (Helm, Cilium/Calico, Istio, Operators), multi-cloud managed services (AWS EKS, AliCloud ACK), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) at scale. Deep understanding of distributed systems failure modes, capacity planning, and operational architecture for high-traffic, consumer-facing applications. Experience implementing platform self-service tools, developer productivity programs, and pragmatic AI-assisted engineering workflows (e.g., automated triage, operational assistance). Proven track record establishing SLOs/SLIs, post-mortem cultures, and incident response frameworks for high-availability systems. Excellent organizational and English communication skills, with a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives across international locations. What Makes You Stand Out Proven track record of managing a team through a large-scale, internet-scale migration to Kubernetes-based infrastructure. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or related cloud/management certifications. Active involvement in the Cloud/DevOps community or experience leading distributed, multi-region platform teams.
