About The Role
Job Title: Intermediate BI Consultant
Reports to: Practice Head Data & Analytics
ROLE OVERVIEW
The successful individual would be responsible for using data to determine market and business trends for companies to increase profitability and efficiency.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- -
- BI Knowledge: Practical work knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, ETL/DI design and implementation
- -
- Practical Work experience within AZURE, specific to BI and Data analytics
- -
- Development Knowledge: SQL Server 2012, T-SQL, MDX, ETL, Cube Development, OLAP
- -
- Technical Skills: use complex computer programs to mine data sources and look for trends
- -
- Analytical Skills: determine what data trends mean. Being able to analyze the data is crucial
- -
- Communication Skills: Once the data is analyzed, communicate findings to the line manager or client
- -
- Problem-Solving: look at the data trends and recommend solutions for creating more revenue and reducing loss
- -
- Presentation skills: A proven track record of presenting and persuading both clients and peers
- -
- Technology Trends: Aware of advanced BI concepts such as predictive analytics, AI and IOT with a desire to experiment with them
- -
- Time Management: the ability to work on large projects and many data streams and many deadlines. Being able to “juggle it all” is crucial to the job
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- -
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in BI and Data Analytics
- -
- Preferably in a consulting, banking, insurance & telecoms industry
CORE COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL)
- -
- Develop SSRS reports
- -
- Develop Power BI reports and Dashboards
- -
- Develop SSIS and\or Data Factory Packages
- -
- Design and Maintain a data warehouse
- -
- Write, test, and trouble-shoot SQL code
- -
- Design tables, stored procedures, views and functions
- -
- Complete SQL query performance optimization
- -
- Ensure that development standards and processes are adhered to
- -
- Create analytical solutions using Microsoft Excel
- -
- Work with large SQL data sets

MINIMUM EDUCATION
- -
- A formal tertiary qualification in a field relevant to BI and Data Analytics
- -
- Microsoft MCSE is highly favoured, if not yet obtained, a commitment in obtaining this certification is required
