Maintenance Aide

The Opportunity

Do you take pride in keeping spaces safe, functional, and looking their best? As Maintenance Aide at Chartwell, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our residence, equipment, and grounds meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your hands-on skills and problem-solving ability will help create a comfortable, worry-free home for our residents, while supporting the smooth operation of the community.

What You’ll Do

• Help with regular maintenance tasks and keep records up to date
• Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, outdoor spaces, and common areas
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and report issues as needed
• Prepare suites for new residents, including small repairs and painting
• Assist with preparing suites for new occupancy, including minor carpentry and painting
• Keep supplies organized and follow all health, safety, and infection control rules

What You’ll Bring

• Secondary school education or equivalent experience
• Previous maintenance experience and ability to use equipment safely
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with staff, residents, and vendors
• Organized and able to keep work areas safe, clean, and efficient
• Committed to providing excellent customer service

Additional Requirements

• Ability to perform frequent physical duties including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting tools or equipment
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
• Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
