About The Role
Led the design and coordination of roads, drainage, utilities, and related infrastructure works for an airport renovation project. Prepared detailed engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable airport standards, codes, safety requirements, and project specifications. Coordinated with architectural, MEP, structural, and construction teams to resolve design interfaces and technical issues. Supported site inspections, design reviews, and construction activities, providing timely technical solutions to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
- Communicate continuously with the Client’s representatives regarding Project Progress and areas of concern.
- Propose in-house Project Management procedures to comply with Contract requirements and Client procedures.
- Establish and maintain specific project procedures for Design/Construction Supervision Management (as applicable).
- Review road and utility designs, technical studies, calculations, specifications, drawings, and BOQs.
- Review road geometry, pavement design, intersections, access arrangements, drainage, traffic management, signage, road markings and safety barriers.
- Review utility networks, including stormwater, potable water, sewerage, irrigation, fire water, electrical and telecommunications systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi regulations, aviation requirements, project specifications and relevant international standards.
- Identify design gaps, utility clashes and technical interfaces between roads, utilities, buildings, airfield facilities and other infrastructure packages.
- Coordinate engineering requirements with consultants, designers, internal departments, airport stakeholders and relevant authorities.
- Review design changes, technical queries, value-engineering proposals and proposed deviations from approved requirements.
- Provide technical clarification and engineering support to the Project and Construction teams while maintaining the Contractor’s and Supervision Consultant’s contractual responsibilities.
- Review as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records, O&M manuals and technical handover documentation from an engineering-compliance perspective.
- Maintain technical records, design-review comments and closure tracking through the applicable document-management system.
- Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in large-scale Airport Renovation projects.
- Liaise with industry and contractor partners and participants to assist them with strategy & direction in asphalt and pavement engineering, technology, and design.
- Require relevant experience in airport infrastructure and operational airport environments, together with knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS and BIM platforms
- Must be well versed with flexible and rigid pavement design, including polymer-modified asphalt. (PMA)
- Oversee or undertake technical support activities on construction contracts and provide advice to staff employed in the inspection and management of civil engineering work.
- Do technical reviews & verification of projects and contracts.
- Pavement analysis and design of civil engineering and building works.
- Construction management of pavements on civil project works and planning and execution of pavement site investigations.
- Oversee and undertake the production of technical reports and construction documents (eg, specifications and drawings).
- Preparation of estimates, methodologies, and project reports as required, and liaising with clients and external and internal teams and schedules to ensure projects are undertaken and completed profitably and with appropriate technical content and timeliness.
- Project financial control and profitability, invoicing and reporting.
- Experience of working internationally (preference for the Middle East / KSA).
