About The Role
SECTION I: Job Summary
The QC Inspector – Coating performs inspection and testing of surface preparation and protective coating/painting activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
SECTION II: Job Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections on surface preparation and coating/painting works.
- Verify surface preparation (blasting profile, cleanliness) against specifications (e.g., SSPC/NACE standards).
- Witness coating application, DFT/WFT checks, holiday testing, and adhesion tests per the ITP.
- Verify environmental conditions (humidity, dew point, temperature) prior to coating application.
- Verify materials and batch certificates against approved coating specifications.
- Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
- Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
- Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
- Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment (gauges, holiday detectors) used on site.
- Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for coating works.
- Support preparation of quality documentation for coating handover dossiers.

Experience
- 5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on coating/painting application projects.
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering.
- NACE/coating inspection certification (e.g., NACE Level II) preferred.
