About The Role
SECTION I: Job Summary
The QC Inspector – Piping performs inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation activities to verify compliance with isometrics, welding procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
SECTION II: Job Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
- Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT), and other required tests per the ITP.
- Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against approved isometrics and WPS.
- Verify materials, spools, and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
- Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
- Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
- Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
- Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
- Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for piping works.
- Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes (ASME B31.3).
- Support preparation of quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.

SECTION V: Required Experience and Education
- Experience • 5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on piping construction/fabrication projects.
- Education • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- QC/inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP, CWI) preferred.
SECTION VI: LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
- Supervisory / Managerial: No supervisory responsibility.
- Financial: No financial or budget authority.
SECTION VII: MISCELLANEOUS JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
General Profile / Specifications: • Field-based role requiring daily presence on active piping work fronts
- Exposure to site/construction conditions
- May require shift work or extended hours to cover inspection hold points
