Electrical Technician

Wood is currently seeking experienced Electrical Technicians for a Night Shift assignment working a 21/21 offshore rotation to support a Romanian based project for a minimum of 6 months.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major gas infrastructure project, supporting the safe and efficient operation of metering and production facilities.

The Role

Duration: Minimum 6 months

The Electrical Technician will support offshore operations during the well clean-up campaign, GPP back-gassing activities, and hydrocarbon export to onshore facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability of electrical systems and power generation equipment while supporting safe and efficient platform operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Supervisor and Start-up Team, managing electrical permits under the Control of Work system, providing effective shift handovers, and ensuring all electrical assets operate within the required specifications. The role will also promote a strong safety culture through compliance with HSE procedures, risk assessments, hazard identification, and support for emergency response activities.

• Support offshore start-up and commissioning activities to ensure a safe and efficient transition into production
• Support export pipeline commissioning and hydrocarbon transfer to onshore facilities
• Provide technical and operational support during commissioning, start-up, and early production phases
• Manage electrical permits under the Control of Work (CoW) system
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and power generation equipment
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor and Start-up Team to ensure electrical assets operate within specification
• Provide shift handovers and support daily operational reporting
• Enforce HSE procedures and electrical safety standards
• Participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks
• Ensure compliance with PTW and isolation procedures
• Support emergency response activities and promote a strong safety culture

Expected

• Technical expertise in offshore power generation, DEH systems, power distribution systems, and electrical utilities
• Previous Isolation Authority experience
• Skilled in electrical fault finding, troubleshooting, isolations, de-isolations, and equipment reinstatement
• Strong HSE knowledge, including hazard identification, electrical safety, and emergency response
• Ability to ensure electrical systems are available and aligned with start-up procedures and work packs
• Effective communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Offshore certifications including BOSIET/FOET and HUET
• Valid offshore medical certificate (such as OGUK)

Desirable

• Experience working within the North Sea energy sector, with an understanding of offshore operations
• Engineering degree is preferred but not mandatory
