Line Leader

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for ensuring production shop floor is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule. The Production leader provides effective training to the assembly cell and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained. The Production leader will assemble products by using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble.

• Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

• At least 3 years’ experience in production management in a reputed organization preferably switchgear industry.

• ERP (Microsoft, AX Dynamics preferably) exposure, MS office tools

• Work with supervisor and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
• Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
• Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the work cell.
• Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labour to Production section head.
• Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor, Materials /Warehouse to resolve issues.
• Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work.
• Complete lot acceptance activities for assigned assembly shop floor
• Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication.
• Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Production section head.
• Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
• Participate as an active member of the production assembly team and assembles products.
• Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality
• Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate complex equipment and machines, adjusting diverse variables to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to simple and recurring inefficiencies.
2. Equipment Maintenance and Repair : Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance routines.
3. Operations Management: Provide operational support by performing a range of routine activities using existing systems and protocols.
4. Quality Assurance: Conduct complex analyses, quality tests, and inspections that require a high level of independent judgment.
5. Work Scheduling and Allocation: Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.
6. Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
7. Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
8. Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
