Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor – Civil to support commercial and cost management activities for infrastructure and urban development projects. The role will involve quantity estimation, cost planning, BOQ preparation, tendering, valuation, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates for civil works.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify quantities and scope of work.
- Prepare rate analysis, cost estimates and tender documentation .
- Evaluate contractor quotations and support tender evaluation and commercial comparisons .
- Review and certify contractor interim payment applications / RA bills .
- Monitor project costs, variations, claims and change orders.
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, budgets and commercial trackers .
- Assist in pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities .
- Review variations and assess their commercial impact on project cost.
- Support preparation and evaluation of EOT, claims and other contractual submissions .
- Coordinate with project managers, design teams, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Ensure commercial records and documentation are maintained accurately.
- Support final account preparation and settlement with contractors.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management for civil, infrastructure, buildings or urban development projects.
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis and cost estimation .
- Experience in contractor billing, valuation, variations and claims management .
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial practices.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications and tender documents .
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant QS / estimation software.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams and consultants.
- Strong analytical, numerical and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with consultancy / PMC / EPC / infrastructure projects .
- Exposure to large-scale urban development, buildings, roads, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of standard forms of contract such as FIDIC / GCC / relevant Indian construction contracts will be an advantage.
