About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual with strong communication skills who can work confidently with a range of stakeholders, use their own initiative, be calm under pressure and help minimise disruption while keeping Nottingham’s highway network moving safely and efficiently.

About You

The ideal candidate will have

  • Knowledge and experience of working within a proactive traffic and network management environment.
  • A good working knowledge of the Traffic Management Act 2004, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Highways Act 1980 and Street Works Permit Scheme requirements.

  • Experience of carrying out site inspections, with a good understanding of health and safety requirements and standards for highway works and reinstatements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to deal confidently with residents, Councillors, contractors, developers, emergency services and other partner organisations.
  • A proactive, can-do approach, with the ability to work independently, solve problems and respond effectively to changing or emergency situations.
  • Good organisational and IT skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, maintain accurate records and use specialist systems.
  • A full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work and a willingness to travel to sites.
