Assistant General Counsel (Legal & Business Affairs, Litigation)

Join Roku as an Assistant General Counsel, Litigation. In this role, you will manage Roku's litigation portfolio outside of intellectual property matters, including consumer class actions, commercial disputes, and government investigations. You will develop case strategies, manage government inquiries, and coordinate cross-functional responses to regulatory matters. This position requires substantial experience in complex litigation, excellent verbal communication skills, and a strong ability to write clearly and persuasively.

• Skilled at developing litigation strategy and managing outside counsel to efficient, well-reasoned outcomes
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise senior stakeholders and simplify complex legal concepts
• Substantial experience managing complex litigation at a top-tier law firm or in house — including consumer class actions and government investigations — from case assessment through resolution

• Distinctive litigation abilities:
• Experience in high-growth technology or media companies
• 10+ years of combined litigation experience at a law firm, in-house, or both
• The instinct to find the argument, the angle, or the case theory that nobody else in the room sees
• The judgment to know which fights are worth having, and the discipline to make that call and live with it
• Direct experience litigating consumer class actions and/or handling government investigations
• The ability to chart a clear path for the business through thickets of ambiguous laws and regulations
• The gift for breaking down complex arguments into simple, elegant narratives that persuade without ever feeling dumbed down
• A reputation as an exceptional legal writer, with work product — briefs, memos, opinions — that speaks for itself and that you're proud to have us read
