About The Role

ROLE PURPOSE The Head of Revenue Assurance Fraud Management (RAFM) is responsible for protecting MVola's revenues, customer funds and financial assets from fraud, revenue leakage, transaction-processing failures and control weaknesses. The role will lead MVola's RAFM function across its mobile money, digital banking, payments, lending, savings, cards, merchant, agent and partner ecosystems. A key priority will be to play a leading business role in the implementation and operationalization of MVola's new RAFM platform, ensuring that the solution addresses priority fraud and revenue-assurance risks and delivers measurable business value. The role will work closely with: Risk, Finance, Technology, Data, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Operations, Product and Commercial teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. RAFM Strategy Governance Develop and execute MVola's RAFM strategy, framework and annual assurance plan. Maintain a comprehensive fraud and revenue-assurance risk universe. Establish appropriate RAFM policies, controls, KRIs and escalation thresholds. Provide regular reporting and insights to Executive Management and relevant governance committees at Local and Group level. Build, lead and coach a high-performing, data-driven RAFM team. Maintain action trackers and ensure closure of items arising from RAFM work 2. Revenue Assurance Have visibility of end to end risks and ensure end to end coverage of all revenue streams and transactions through the implementation of controls Ensure completeness and accuracy of revenues and financial transactions across MVola products and channels. Identify, quantify, prevent and recover revenue leakage. Establish automated reconciliations across transaction platforms, core banking, General Ledger, bank/settlement accounts and partners. Assure tariffs, fees, commissions, promotions, settlements and revenue-sharing arrangements. Monitor failed, duplicate, missing and incorrectly processed transactions. Track material financial exceptions, suspense items, and adjustments through root-cause analysis and resolution. 3. Fraud Management Develop, operate and continuously update MVola's fraud-risk-management framework. Identify and mitigate customer, agent, merchant, employee and partner fraud. Review end to end processes and identify fraud risks and ensure alerts/ preventive controls are implemented to prevent and detect fraud Manage risks including account takeover, identity fraud, social engineering, SIM-swap fraud, lending fraud, payment/card fraud, commission abuse, agent collusion and internal fraud. Develop transaction-monitoring rules, fraud scenarios and customer/agent/merchant risk profiles. Lead investigations into material fraud incidents and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Continuously optimize fraud detection while minimizing false positives and unnecessary customer friction. 4. New RAFM System Implementation Act as a key business owner/stakeholder in the implementation and operationalization of MVola's new RAFM platform. Responsibilities will include: Ensure delivery of the minimum Group-mandated controls and adherence to RFP Scope of Work Document Define and prioritize (additional) local RAFM business and functional requirements. Translate fraud typologies and revenue risks into automated controls and system use cases. Identify required data sources and support integration across mobile money, core banking, GL, agents, merchants, lending, cards and other platforms. Work closely with Technology, Data, Finance and the implementation partner throughout solution design and deployment. Lead RAFM User Acceptance Testing and business acceptance. Support configuration of fraud rules, reconciliation controls, alerts, workflows and dashboards. Ensure appropriate migration, operational readiness, training and knowledge transfer. Drive post-implementation optimization and ensure the RAFM team develops sufficient capability to operate and enhance the platform. 5. Product Change Assurance Embed RAFM assessment within new-product and change-management processes, providing sign-offs and risk mitigation recommendations. Review new products and major system changes for fraud, leakage, reconciliation, settlement and financial-integrity risks. Ensure appropriate controls and monitoring are implemented before commercial launch. Work with Product and Technology teams to design preventive controls rather than relying primarily on post-event detection. Post-launch review on all new system launches and system changes 6. Analytics Continuous Improvement Drive use of data analytics and automation within RAFM. Develop actionable dashboards covering fraud losses, revenue leakage, reconciliations and emerging risks. Use transaction and behavioural data to identify anomalies and emerging fraud patterns – ensure RAFM system is up to date to detect the same. Continuously improve rules, controls and processes based on incidents and analytical insights in the RAFM system. Evaluate advanced analytics and machine-learning opportunities as RAFM capability matures. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Success will be measured through indicators including: Fraud losses prevented, detected and recovered Revenue leakage identified, prevented and recovered Fraud loss as a percentage of transaction value/revenue Percentage of key revenue streams under automated assurance Reconciliation coverage and unresolved exceptions Fraud detection and false-positive rates Mean time to detect and respond to fraud Percentage of critical RAFM controls automated RAFM coverage of new products and system changes Successful implementation and adoption of the new RAFM platform Financial benefits delivered through the RAFM function
