Housekeeping/Porter (4440)

DescriptionPRIMARY DUTIES:

• Disinfect restroom and surfaces

• stock various dispenser with supplies (i.e. towel, soap, toilet paper, seat covers, etc.)

• transport trash to dumpsters or collection bins

• report any damaged fixtures, hardware or lighting not working properly

• clean up emergency spills

• wash walls or soiled furniture as needed

OTHER DUTIES:

• provide back-up support for Director of Plant and other technicians

• assist with meetings or set ups

• assist with building security needs(i.e. keep locks working)

• dry and wet mop floors as necessary

• vacuum and shampoo carpets, bacteria control and spot removal when necessary

• other duties as assigned by supervisor

REPORTS TO: Director of Plant

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent

SKILLS:

• Basic knowledge of chemical/cleaner use, surface types, safety protocol, and cleaning equipment

• Team player with great communication skills

extensive standing and walking
continuous repetitive grasping and manipulation of both hands
frequently working in confined, noisy areas

frequent exposure to chemicals
frequent squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, climbing
occasional operation of industrial machinery
frequently lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs
occasional exposure to hazardous materials
read and interpret detailed specifications, manuals, etc.
understand/carry out simple/detailed oral/written instructions
memorize and retain instructions
