Job Title: Assistant Manager – Accounts Receivable Department: Finance & Accounts Reporting To: Finance Manager / Accounts Receivable Manager Location: [Location] Job Summary The Assistant Manager - Accounts Receivable is responsible for managing the organization's receivables process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, maintaining accurate customer accounts, reducing overdue balances, and supporting cash flow management. The role involves team supervision, customer relationship management, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance with company financial policies. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Management Oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable process. Ensure timely generation and dispatch of customer invoices. Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances. Follow up on overdue payments and resolve payment discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of receivables transactions. Collection & Credit Control Develop and implement collection strategies to improve cash flow. Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts. Coordinate with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment schedules. Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits. Escalate chronic delinquency cases to management. Reconciliation & Reporting Perform customer account reconciliations. Investigate and resolve billing disputes, deductions, and short payments. Prepare AR aging reports, collection forecasts, and cash flow reports. Monitor key receivable KPIs such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding). Team Management Supervise and guide Accounts Receivable Executives. Allocate tasks and monitor team performance. Conduct regular training and process improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOPs. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve customer-related billing issues. Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Assist auditors by providing required AR documentation. Process Improvement & Compliance Identify opportunities to enhance AR processes and collection efficiency. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements. Implement automation and system improvements wherever feasible. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred. 5-8 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or Finance. Experience in team handling and customer collections. Required Skills Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Collection Management. Expertise in account reconciliation and aging analysis. Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.). Advanced MS Excel skills. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and deadline-oriented mindset. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Collection efficiency ratio. Reduction in overdue receivables. Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). Cash collection targets achieved. Accuracy of customer account reconciliations. Reduction in invoice disputes and aging balances.
