About The Role
Position Reports to: Manager: Legal. Division : Taxpayer Engagement Location : Randburg Office Advert Closing Date : 07 September 2026 About the Position The Litigation and Alternative Resolution Division nationally has vacancies for skilled tax Dispute Resolution Reviewers / Functional Specialists as driven by the SARS Strategic Intent and Vision 2025. Candidates should possess sound knowledge and understanding of the various taxes administered by SARS and, to apply and interpret the legislative framework effectively and accurately. Successful candidates should have an excellent ability to demonstrate concern for taxpayer expectations and needs. Further, successful candidates should possess excellent research, analytical, attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills to facilitate various Dispute Resolution proceedings and conclude legal agreements. Job Purpose To conduct reviews of standard disputed tax assessments or decisions to ensure the correct application of the relevant legislation and ultimate resolution of the tax dispute Education and Experience Minimum Qualification & Experience Required National Diploma in Auditing, Accounting and Taxation (NQF-6) AND 2-3 years' Auditing experience in a Legal/ Tax environment, of which 1-2 years at a knowledge worker level. Alternative Minimum Experience: Senior Certificate (NQF 4) with 5 years’ Auditing experience in a Tax environment, of which 1-2 years at a knowledge worker level. Minimum Functional Requirements Job Outputs: Process Accumulate information and provide reports with recommendations applicable to area of specialisation. Administer and coordinate the receipt of cases, tax compliance checks, data capturing, preparation for allocations and administrative assistance with rulings. Apply practical and applied knowledge and act authoritatively on methods, systems and procedures to identify trends and potential risks. Communication of situational interpretation and judgement of work outputs and queries in area of specialisation. Constantly align own work method to changes in work requirements, procedures, policies, processes, and delivery systems to meet contracted targets or set timelines. Correctly apply policies, practices, standards, procedures and legislation in the delivery of work outputs. Develop and maintain a database of documents, decisions and outcomes relevant to the business unit. Effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of specialisation. Execute process and procedural change, implement the change and provide guidelines and support related to new requirements as a result of the change. Manage the performance objective tracking system to ensure compliance with prescribed statutory requirements, rules and regulations. Provide specialist input through the investigation of opportunities for operational and process, product and risk optimisation. Use practical and applied knowledge and situational judgement to arrive at decisions. Ensure quality of work content, quick turnaround, prioritise, minimise mistakes and continuously improve quality, service and standards Governance Comply to set governance and compliance procedures and processes related to an area of specialisation and continuously identify and escalate risks. People De velop and maintain productive working relationships with peers and team members to achieve predefined objectives. Maintain professional interactions and ensure ethical dealings with clients at all times by constantly building customer relationships.
