About The Role

Join Coinbase as a Credit Risk Intern for a 12-week summer internship in 2027. As part of the Credit Risk team, you will support the underwriting, monitoring, and analysis of credit risk across Coinbase's global institutional client base. You will gain hands-on experience evaluating complex exposures in digital asset lending and trading, and your work will directly inform credit decisions and risk reporting for leadership.

  • Support the underwriting, monitoring, and analysis of counterparty and asset-level credit risk across Coinbase's global institutional client base.
  • Underwrite institutional counterparties, including hedge funds, asset managers, corporates, market makers, and banking and payment providers, recommending internal credit ratings and risk-based limits.
  • Monitor trading and bank partner exposures on an ongoing basis, conducting periodic portfolio reviews and flagging concentration risks or emerging trends to leadership.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for quantitative analysis, including modeling, scenario analysis, or data summarization
  • Demonstrated interest in financial and capital markets, with coursework or projects involving credit analysis, financial statement interpretation, or portfolio risk concepts
  • Familiarity with the crypto economy or digital assets, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new financial product domains
