Design Intern (Winter 2027)

Join Wealthsimple, a leading financial services company in Canada, as a Design Intern for Winter 2027. This 4 to 8-month internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that are transforming the financial landscape for Canadians. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers, gaining hands-on experience in product design and development. The internship operates on a hybrid model, with in-office collaboration on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and remote work for the rest of the week.

• Contribuer à la conception et à la livraison d'expériences produit réelles dans des domaines tels que l'investissement et la banque.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec des designers, des chefs de produit et des ingénieurs pour apprendre comment les idées passent du concept au produit expédié.
• Participer à la recherche et aux sessions de feedback des clients pour mieux comprendre les besoins et les points de douleur des clients.
• Interest in talking to customers and using research and feedback to inform your design decisions
• Comfort learning new problem spaces quickly and eagerness to dig into complex domains
• A collaborative mindset! You enjoy working closely with designers, engineers, and product partners
• Strong taste and a willingness to share ideas, explore alternatives, and explain your thinking
• Passion for Wealthsimple’s mission and excitement about helping Canadians reach financial freedom
• Experience using Figma to design and prototype product experiences
• Genuine interest in product design and curiosity about how digital products are built and improved over time
• Enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution, technical bootcamp, or a new graduate (Within 6 months of your graduation date)
• We don’t expect interns to have it all figured out. We’re excited by people with strong potential, good judgment, and the motivation to learn fast and make things better
• Experience experimenting with prototyping or developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or other AI-assisted workflows
