Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant

Join our team as a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant, where you will play a critical role in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting for various state regulatory authorities. You will assist with the compilation of statutory financial statements, reconciliations, process enhancement, and other critical statutory accounting and reporting projects. Additionally, you will be involved in a new business initiative regarding the accounting for reinsurance. • Ability to identify actions necessary to complete tasks and obtain results
• Advance excel proficiency, including experience with complex formulas
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis
• A demonstrable track record of success / delivery in a changing and complex financial reporting environment
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment where every day we try to develop and optimize our operations and processes
• Must be analytical, hands on, and expected to be an immediate contributor
• Ability to adhere to policies and procedures
• Maintain high ethical standards at all times, to include maintaining the confidentiality of financial and other sensitive information consistent with professional and regulatory requirements and standards
• Reinsurance accounting experience - from implementation to reporting
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite (ERP) and Workiva (Wdesk) is a significant plus
• A dynamic team player who is highly motivated, a self-starter, can demonstrate great initiative, and is customer-service oriented
• Ability to independently manage multiple demands and meet deadlines
• Experience with healthcare and insurance industries
• Experience with review of statutory filings
• Exposure in leveraging AI tools to automate complex financial reconciliations, improve the accuracy of statutory filings, and streamline data collection across multiple jurisdictions
