Controls Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Join Zipline, a company dedicated to revolutionizing logistics and healthcare through drone technology. As a Controls Engineer Intern, you will work on the Flight Controls team, contributing to the design, implementation, testing, and release of innovative flight algorithms. You will have the opportunity to see your contributions fly and make a measurable impact on our product. This is a full-time, in-person internship for Summer 2027, based in South San Francisco or Dallas.

• Contribuer à la conception, à la mise en œuvre, aux tests et à la publication d'algorithmes de vol innovants qui améliorent les performances opérationnelles des contrôleurs de véhicules.
• Créer des outils et des tests pour démontrer les performances de votre conception et protéger contre les régressions logicielles, en utilisant à la fois des garanties théoriques et des simulations.
• Analyser les données de vol pour évaluer les changements récents et les mises à niveau, en recherchant des régressions et des domaines potentiels d'amélioration future.
• Software engineering skills, preferably with both embedded software (C, C++, Rust) and technical computing (MATLAB, python, Julia, etc.). Experience with Github and working in a multi-developer environment is an advantage
• You think simulations and working with hardware are both fun
• Exposure in one or more of the following areas: precision integrated inertial navigation, dynamic modeling of complex systems, linear control analysis, or optimal control with uncertainty
• Your applied math skills stand out even among aerospace engineers
• You have owned and developed controls solutions for a team project, thesis, or competition
