Associate UI Software Engineer

Join Self Financial as an Associate UI Software Engineer and be part of a growing Frontend Engineering team. You will contribute to building the mobile app and web experiences, improve your frontend fundamentals, and build high-quality software in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is designed for someone early in their engineering career, with 0-3 years of professional experience.

• Familiarity with Git and common software development workflows
• Interest in writing reliable, tested, accessible, and maintainable code
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and how frontend applications communicate with backend services
• 0-3 years of software engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, academic projects, bootcamp projects, or professional experience
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern web development fundamentals
• Strong willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow as part of a collaborative engineering team
• Internship, project, or professional experience with React FrameworkExperience using agentic engineering tools (e.g., Claude, OpenAI/Codex, Copilot) to accelerate development workflows
• Foundational experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience preferred
• Experience building user interfaces with React, React Native, or similar frontend frameworks
• Personal, academic, or open-source projects that demonstrate frontend craftsmanship and product thinking
