About The Role

Job Summary

Performs skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery and specialty equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.

We are looking for a talented Heavy Equipment Technician (Afternoon Shift) to join us in (Edmonton, AB).

3:30 PM - 12 Midnight (Shift)

100% Onsite

This role will make an impact in the following ways

  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues to support equipment uptime
  • Complete engine assembly, repair, and overhaul activities as required
  • Utilize technical manuals, diagrams, specifications, measuring devices, and testing equipment to perform repairs
  • Perform quality inspections and document maintenance activities accurately
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment downtime failure analysis
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements
  • Coach and support less experienced technicians and assist with skill development across the team

In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following

  • HET Off-Road Journeyperson Certification (required)
  • Strong experience performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Engine assembly, repair, rebuild, and overhaul experience preferred
  • Experience performing preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance activities
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls
  • Experience using Cummins QuickServe and Cummins INSITE is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians
  • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and safety excellence.

HET OFFROAD Journey Person Certification Required

  • Engine Assembly/Repair experience prefered
  • Cummins Service Tooling (Cummins Quickserve and Cummins Insite) an asset

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
