Description

client is seeking an **Ansible Automation Engineer** to join their team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This individual will lead infrastructure automation initiatives across Linux and cloud environments, helping reduce manual operational work through scalable, repeatable automation solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**

Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and Terraform
Build scalable automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments
Automate processes across Linux (Red Hat/OpenShift), cloud, and infrastructure platforms
Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, and Engineering teams to identify and implement automation opportunities
Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation workflows, playbooks, and pipelines
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and automation standards
Support enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives in a hybrid cloud environment

Requirements

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with **Ansible** (AAP, playbooks, roles, modules, automation workflows)
Strong experience with **Terraform** and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Linux administration experience, including:

**Red Hat Enterprise Linux**
**OpenShift**

Experience supporting cloud platforms:

**Azure**
**AWS**
**Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**

Scripting experience with:

**YAML**
**Python**

Experience supporting infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment automation
Strong documentation and written communication skills
Ability to work independently in a highly technical, non-customer-facing environment
