About The Role
Contract Type: Fixed Term – September 2026 to June 2029Overview / Context of the RoleAs the Technical Guarantee Lead for Hawk-Eye Innovations in Singapore, you will be joining one of the most innovative sports technology businesses in the world and will play a vital role as we embark on an ambitious growth journey with the ultimate goal of “Pioneering & Inspiring Change in Sport”. We have been innovating since 2001, challenging conventions to deliver solutions that make sport fairer, safer, more engaging and better informed.This is a newly created role, established to lead the technical delivery of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) services in Singapore, following our new contract with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). Reporting to the Operations Manager – Singapore (VAR Services), you will be responsible for the technical planning, implementation and match-day performance of the VAR service, delivered from the Replay Centre for matches played across 4 Singapore Premier League (SPL) <stadiums.You> will be the first point of technical contact for the Singapore delivery, ensuring the Hawk-Eye Guarantee is met on every match day, software releases are tested and committed ahead of each SPL matchweek, and any technical issues are resolved rapidly with minimal impact to FAS.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Strategy & DeliveryOwn the technical planning, architecture and deployment of the VAR service across SPL competitions, ensuring strict adherence to Hawk-Eye best practiceDeeply understand the contractual agreement and SLAs with FAS, ensuring hardware, software and infrastructure are robust enough to guarantee flawless deliveryPrepare, set up and oversee the VAR technical configuration in the Replay Centre ahead of each matchweekCommit software releases with the necessary regression testing ahead of each SPL matchweek, liaising with the Global VAR Tech LeadRapidly resolve live operational technical issues on match day, minimising impact to FAS, and conduct thorough post-match technical analysisReview feedback and Portal tickets relating to the Singapore VAR service and implement necessary changes in a timely mannerConstantly review and monitor hardware (VORs, RRAs, VARdict, Vokkero) to determine whether the most optimal and efficient solution is being usedProvide technical expertise, architecture input and integration support during contract renewals and any new service sales in SingaporeInfrastructure & Operations SupportPartner with the Operations Manager to oversee the technical delivery of Singapore Remote Support, including match-day checklists, escalation protocols and issue trackingAid the Operations Manager in technical training and documentation for on-site and remote operational staff to ensure field readinessEnforce technical protocols, data security and IT compliance standards across the Singapore deliveryTraining & StandardsTake an active role in training staff assigned to FAS matches, in particular the VOR and RRA rolesDefine, communicate and monitor standards for on-site troubleshooting and remote supportMaintain and develop technical training content and standards for the Singapore team, incorporating regular skills development sessionsProactively seek out opportunities to improve personal technical knowledge through conversations with the Global VAR Tech LeadClient & Stakeholder RelationsAct as the trusted technical point of contact for FAS and associated stakeholdersElevate Hawk-Eye's reputation by ensuring technical execution remains flawless, robust and industry-leadingLiaise with other Hawk-Eye Technical Leads to share good practice and drive forward the quality of delivery across the businessSkills, Knowledge & ExpertiseDemonstrable technical problem solving experience from having worked on similar technology deployment or broadcast related projects. Previous experience delivering VAR on top-flight domestic or international competitions is considered an advantageKnowledge of VAR technology from both a technical and hardware standpointA solid understanding of networking principles and familiarity with key third-party ecosystems used in football technology (Windows, Nvidia, Blackmagic, Dante, etc.)Proven track record of reliability and forward thinking, with evidence of furthering and improving existing technologyExceptional analytical and debugging skills to handle “near miss” scenarios and high-profile technical anomalies under intense pressureAbility to work autonomously and without direct supervisionStrong communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts effortlessly to non-technical stakeholdersExcellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with a proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasksWillingness to undertake occasional travel within Singapore and the surrounding region as requiredFlexibility to work a schedule aligned with match fixtures and seasonal peaks, including evenings and weekendsAt Hawk-Eye Innovations, we appreciate and value the importance of potential and growth.
