About The Role

Introduction

The world is at your feet as a certified engine mechanic at KLM. You maintain, overhaul and modify aircraft engines and individual components. You are also responsible for certifying them. With your experience, you serve as a role model for junior engine mechanics. This gives you the opportunity to surpass yourself and help your colleagues progress every day.

What are you going to do

When a damaged aircraft engine arrives at the Engine Shop, you assess its condition. You disassemble the engine and inspect all individual components. You determine what needs to be replaced and which materials are required. If necessary, you consult a specialist.

After the repair, you check whether everything has been delivered according to the module requirements. You then prepare the repaired engine for shipment. You also supervise new colleagues by training them and helping them work independently as quickly as possible.

In addition

You test the engine for internal damage and identify any anomalies.

You work with various engine types.

You always keep the customer's requirements in mind.

You report daily to the team lead and the lead mechanic of the Engine Shop.

You perform administrative tasks.

You comply with all safety regulations.

You will be part of Engine Services, a division of Engineering and Maintenance. Here, we not only maintain our own aircraft but also those of customers worldwide. You will work in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul department, as part of a team of around twenty colleagues. You will work in shifts one week of day shifts and one week of evening shifts. Our department increasingly uses digital tools that help us work smarter and faster.
