About The Role
DescriptionJob Summary:
Responsible for safe and effective delivery of patient care to the pre and postoperative patient.
Responsible for PACU call
Responsible for working all area’s of the department including preoperative area, postoperative area and post anesthesia care unit
Job Responsibilities:
- Supports patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural, ethical and religious
diversity
- Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient
manner to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
- Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides ongoing education and evaluation. Documents
readiness to learn, teaching barriers and outcomes.
- Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner, according to hospital policies and
procedures.
- Effectively utilizes the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes.

- Acts in accordance with hospital policies and code of conduct
- Correctly administers medications and treatments
- Maintains healthy work environment to enhance nurse retention and recruitment
- Utilizes the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in nursing practice

professional skills.
QualificationsEducation Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Certification/Licensure: Illinois licensed or eligible.
CPR certification required
ACLS provider status preferred
PALS provider status preferred
Experience Requirements: Minimum one year of PACU experience preferred
Critical care experience preferred
