About The Role
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Position Area Manager Testing - Field Crops (TM2) Location Karnal, Haryana Function Research & Development / Testing Reporting To Regional Testing Lead / Testing Manager Role Purpose The Area Manager Testing will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing field testing activities for field crop hybrids and varieties within the assigned geography. The role will ensure high-quality trial execution, data generation, product evaluation, and stakeholder engagement to support product advancement and commercialization decisions. Key Responsibilities Trial Planning & Execution Develop and implement seasonal testing plans for field crops across the assigned territory. Identify, establish, and manage trial locations to ensure representative product evaluation. Ensure timely sowing, crop maintenance, monitoring, and harvesting of trials. Monitor trial quality and adherence to testing protocols and stewardship requirements. Data Collection & Analysis Ensure accurate and timely collection of agronomic, phenotypic, and performance data. Conduct regular field assessments and product evaluations. Analyze trial results and provide actionable insights for product advancement decisions. Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company standards. Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, channel partners, research institutes, and external collaborators. Coordinate with Breeding, Product Development, Agronomy, Marketing, and Commercial teams. Support field visits, product reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations. Team & Resource Management Lead and guide field technicians, contract labor, and seasonal resources. Ensure efficient utilization of budgets, equipment, and field resources. Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Product Advancement Support Support product positioning and recommendation processes through robust field data. Contribute to advancement discussions and portfolio decisions. Identify emerging market needs, competitive products, and regional crop trends. Compliance & Stewardship Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and stewardship standards. Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready records. Qualifications Education Master's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Crop Science, or related discipline preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture with relevant experience may also be considered. Experience 6-10 years of experience in field testing, product development, agronomy, breeding support, or related agricultural research functions. Experience in managing multi-location field trials for major field crops.
