About The Role
Pike Enterprises is seeking a talented and motivated Assistant General Counsel with 3-6 years of experience to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will be a corporate and/or litigation generalist providing support to Pike’s Legal and Risk Teams, as well as its business operations. This role offers an opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities, including negotiating and drafting commercial contracts and evaluating and resolving claims and litigation. The candidate will also provide legal services and advice regarding corporate transactions, personnel matters, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Summary
- Contract Review and Drafting: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and confidentiality agreements.
- Claims/Litigation Support: Assist in managing and resolving claims and litigation involving motor vehicle accidents, general liability, and workers’ compensation, including evaluating exposure, gathering, and reviewing documents, and working with outside counsel.
- Employment Law: Assist in handling employment-related claims and litigation.
- Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various legal issues as needed. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the company.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and work with senior legal staff to develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Compliance: Ensure the company’s compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Assist in developing and implementing company policies and procedures to meet legal compliance standards.
- Corporate Governance: Support the maintenance of corporate governance documents, including board resolutions, minutes, and other corporate records.
- Intellectual Property: Support intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements.
- General Legal Support: Provide general legal support and advice to various departments within the company as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in corporate law and/or litigation.
- Familiarity with business practices and litigation procedures.
- Previous in-house counsel experience is a plus.
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be qualified to practice in the USA and licensed in at least one state.
- Ability to travel as needed. (Up to 25%)
- 3 -6 years of experience in a corporate legal environment or law firm.
