Job Summary
The Trading Operations team plays a critical role in supporting the efficient, resilient and well-controlled operation of Hong Kong's cash and derivatives markets. As part of our continued focus on operational excellence and transformation, we are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the Business Reporting & Controls function.
This role is responsible for overseeing regulatory reporting obligations, delivering timely and insightful market information to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will partner closely with stakeholders across Trading Operations, Markets, Technology and other business functions to enhance reporting capabilities, improve data quality, automate manual processes, and support the department's broader control and transformation agenda. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an analytical and process-driven professional to contribute directly to the effectiveness, efficiency and resilience of a market-critical operations function.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, validate and submit regulatory reports to relevant regulatory authorities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Produce recurring and ad hoc management reports, dashboards and business reporting packs to support operational oversight, risk monitoring and decision-making
- Review existing reporting processes and control frameworks to identify opportunities for enhancement, standardization and increased efficiency
- Design, implement and maintain preventive and detective controls to strengthen reporting accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance
- Partner with business, technology and data teams to automate manual reporting processes and reduce operational risk through process digitization and workflow optimization
- Perform data reconciliation, validation and quality assurance activities to ensure the integrity and reliability of business reporting outputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in trading operations, regulatory reporting, management information reporting, operational risk and controls, or related operational support functions within the financial services industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex issues, interpret operational data, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions to support business objectives
- Self-motivated, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining End User Computing (EUC) applications, including Excel-based reporting tools, macros and automation solutions
- Experience with data visualization and workflow optimization tools would be an advantage
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin), with strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
