Job Description

Primary Function: Supports all aspects of a successful NCAA Division I softball program through coaching, recruiting, player development, academic support, team operations, and external engagement; assists with practice planning, game preparation, and competition strategies while providing specialized instruction and development for outfielders and contributing to the advancement of the team’s offensive performance; serves a significant role in recruiting prospective student-athletes, coordinating recruitment activities, evaluations, campus visits, and eligibility processes in accordance with NCAA and institutional guidelines; contributes to scouting and opponent analysis; develops defensive game plans and player scouting reports; supports student-athletes academic achievement advising and referrals; coordinates team travel and logistical operations; manages student manager; oversees game day operations for officials and visiting teams; and assists with fundraising, donor relations, and program revenue initiatives.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus at least four years of collegiate softball or baseball coaching or collegiate softball or baseball playing experience required. Student experience will be considered. Must abide by the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the University of Northern Iowa.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience using data capturing technology (Rapsodo, Blast Motion or similar technology); ability to navigate video and data scouting programs (Synergy, 6-4-3 or similar programs); knowledge of HomePlate, HackATack, iHackATack, and Spin Ball pitching machines; understanding of advanced softball stats and sabermetrics; experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs; and defensive and hitting instruction experience preferred.

Compensation

$35,000 to Commensurate
