About The Role

Group Company: Mahindra Logistics Limited Designation: Specialist - Operations Office Location: Pune chakan Designation: Deputy Manager – Warehouse & Transportation Management Primary Responsibilities Warehouse & Transportation Management Manage end-to-end warehouse operations including inbound, receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and inventory control. Manage transportation planning, vehicle deployment, route planning, dispatch scheduling and delivery performance. Ensure adherence to customer SOPs, SLAs, KPIs and operational requirements. Monitor warehouse productivity, manpower utilization, space utilization and equipment utilization. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock audits and reconciliation. Monitor OTIF performance, vehicle turnaround time and delivery adherence. Manage transporters, 3PL partners and other logistics service providers. Ensure timely resolution of operational issues and customer escalations. Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly operational MIS. Drive cost optimization, productivity improvement, Lean/Kaizen initiatives and process standardization. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, security and statutory requirements. Lead and develop warehouse and transportation operations teams. Additional Responsibilities The Deputy Manager will be expected to consistently deliver safe operations, high inventory accuracy, excellent customer service, on-time transportation performance, optimized logistics costs and continuous operational improvement . Additional responsibilities include: Customer relationship and stakeholder management. Operational planning and resource allocation. Vendor and transporter performance management. Root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Support customer audits and internal/external audits. Drive 5S, Lean, Kaizen and continuous-improvement initiatives. Identify and implement process automation and digital solutions where applicable. Support budgeting and cost-control activities. Ensure business continuity during operational disruptions. Reporting Team Reporting Designation: Senior Manager / Operations Manager – Supply Chain & Logistics Reporting Department: Supply Chain / Logistics Operations Educational qualifications preferred Category: Graduate / Postgraduate Field specialization: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field Degree: Bachelor's Degree – B.E./B.Tech/BBA/B.Com or equivalent; MBA/PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred Academic score: Minimum 60% preferred Institution tier: Recognized / accredited university or institution Required Certification/s Preferred certifications include: APICS / ASCM certification such as CSCP or CPIM Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt preferred Certified Supply Chain Professional / Logistics certification Relevant Warehouse Management / Transportation Management certification IOSH / NEBOSH certification is an advantage for safety-focused operations Certification requirements may be adjusted based on customer and company policy. Experience managing 30+ operational employees is preferred. Experience handling multiple transporters and logistics vendors. Experience with WMS, TMS and SAP/ERP systems. Experience in customer-facing operations and SLA/KPI management. Work Environment Details Primarily warehouse, distribution center and transportation operations environment. Combination of office/MIS work and warehouse-floor supervision. May involve exposure to loading/unloading areas, material-handling equipment and vehicle movement. Shift-based working may be required depending on customer operations. PPE and safety procedures must be followed inside operational areas. Work environment may involve moderate noise, movement of vehicles and varying temperature conditions depending on warehouse infrastructure. Specific requirements Travel Moderate travel required , typically 10–25% depending on business requirements. Travel may include: Customer locations Warehouses / distribution centers Transporter locations Vendor sites Regional operational sites Vehicle Valid driving license preferred. Ability to travel independently for operational/customer visits. Company-provided vehicle / travel reimbursement may be applicable as per company policy. Work Permit Must have valid authorization to work in India. No work permit sponsorship expected unless specifically required by the organization. Other details Pay Rate As per company salary structure and candidate experience. Indicative market range: ₹8–15 LPA , depending on location, industry, team size, customer complexity and candidate experience. Contract Types Full-time / Permanent Contract / Third-party payroll may be considered depending on business model. Employment terms subject to company and customer requirements. Time Constraints Standard working hours as per company policy. Shift working may be required. May require extended hours during peak periods, month-end/year-end operations, customer audits, inventory counts or emergency situations. Availability during critical operational escalations may be required.
